i am curious to hear how this matter is regarded by others on this site. i believe that this is a driving force behind much of what is happening on the world stage. Some of those close to me think i am overly pessimistic. i hope i am. i don't think science will get us out of the mess our wisdomless technology has forged.
In my opinion, and from what I have read, I can not help but sit on the fence. Too many people writing too much about this, and I am just a layperson and rather dazzled by it all. But I do know this: If peak oil is a reality and the taps are running dry, then there is no avoiding the collapse of 'civilization'. I am not going to go into this, anyone who has read even a little about this knows the reasons, no infrastructure for alternative energy sources, endless wars for resources, blah blah etc. Also Domino, I can easily see why you believe that peak oil is a driving force behind what is happening on the world stage, as a scenario where oil supplies become tapped out fits like a template over current world events. Look at the gas prices. Well, ok maybe I am not so on the fence as I thought.
