Hello all! Not long ago I started growing all of my sallys in a hydro setup i bought and they are all doing great. I have made three sucessful cuttings in the last three months. My only complant is that i have roots shooting out of the stalks, so i have been wandering if these roots growing on the stalks get root rot wouldn't that kill my whole plant? Does any one here know how to stop these roots from growing out of the stalks or should this not worry me?
Peace.
I too am going to try growing some hydro Sally. I have a megagarden that I just bought and now it only needs volunteers.
I dont see a rootrot problem unless you are overwatering and the roots cant get any oxygen. I would however cover the whole base with a piece of white cardboard. It will keep the light out of the roots and I think if any roots appear above the cardboard they will just dry up. I am interested in your results. Is your setup drip or ebb and flow by the way?
Tranceman, not to worry Sally, will shoot roots right out her *rse if she could . This plant sends roots wherever she gets wet pretty much.
It's cool. 8)
