Title: adaptogens
Post by: Danzick on February 11, 2007, 09:11:43 PM
Anyone else exploring the use of adaptogens, either singley or in combinations?  I saw the thread on fo-ti and have seen mention of a few others here.   I've been playing some with the following:

Schisandra berry
jiao-gu-lan
Fo-ti
rhodiola root
maral root
eleuthero root
ashwaganda

Have been able to grow jiao-gu-lan, ashwaganda, and maral root from seed, but rhodiola was a flop.  Haven't tried schisandra or fo-ti yet.  Thoughts, experiences, tips?

I hadn't even heard about some of those but I'm always hearing about new stuff. Here are a couple others I just heard about

lo han kuo
dinh lang

And of course resveratrol which is a substance found in red wine, grapes, giant knotweed and other places. Fo ti has some resveratrol in it. I'm taking rhodiola myself right now. The whole plant is used, not just the root according to what I've heard. I also use ashwaganda and brahmi which is another good one.
