I'm posting a link only to the article in question due to its length. But it is a fascinating read, imo. And all too plausible. I partiularly found the MIT Professor's comments to be interesting on the last page. Despite his best efforts he couldn't debunk the allegations of voter irregularity occuring in certain counties in Florida, specifically the correlation between a few traditionally demcoratic areas using electronic voting machines and a significant increase in votes for Bush. Apparently this trend wasn't found to hold true where paper trails were available.

Since I reside in Fl, it's no surprise that such sorry shennanigans can and will keep occuring... Anybody care to anwer a question????? Why in the world, with the vote count issue such an embarrassment to Fl officials, why, oh why, would Fl be the only state to specifically legislatively outlaw a mandatory paper trail/////////////???????????// Seems obvious to me...... Remembering the debacle of the last election and the irregularities in south Fl,, I'd say that those in power in Fl are well aware that the southern half of the state is predominately Dem/blue-collar/immigrant AND, have the numbers to throw any election solidly toward the Democratic party..... Knowing this, Deibold and it's henchmen flat out cook the tabulations, and the Repubs in Fl crank out legislation that insures such a crooked vote................ sal
Thanks for pointing out the article LW. Nice one..... bout summs it up.
Just came across this little vid. Needless to say I dont' exactly feel swaddled in democracy just yet.....
