Title: need cappi farmers :)
Post by: Loro on July 20, 2006, 04:16:38 PM
The Cappi at IoPans is out of contol. With all this rain there is no way to keep up. It is all over like grass and I am looking for any local floridans near Bradenton willing to help dig out  the runners. It is like 3foot grass all over the yard. Take your own live plants out. please contact me if you can help out.
much love

Probably 'cause we here are all living ALL around the world.  Most "regular" folks are completely clueless about the vine and the brew.

you could post it in the longhouse and or the trade forums. If people are looking for cappi then they could trade their help for some.

of corse IOPAN cares he has been nagging about it all yr. I have been having him work on my house tho. He and i went there one day and tried to tackle it but there was so much of it by the time we got it cut it was raining and it just grew back 10x bigger. The vine is something you have to spend time with inless you have acres to let it run even then you need to keep up with it. He and i are just going to have to let it continue to grow till we have time to rent a truck to get a bobcat. I just don't  want it to kill everything or for him to get fined. I was hoping some locals would want to help but I have had no such luck. i know there are people from FL here :/

--  8)  This thread just amazes me....  Here we have a commonly used admixture plant...  Maybe it's just me and I am woefully uninformed, but I had no idea that cappi was such an invase plant...  I find that such a cool thing. (an entheo that just keeps on propagating)....  If I'm reading this right, then I gotta ask, why then do some sites seem to be selling the vine for such lucrative profit???  Yeah, supply and demand - let the buyer beware etc.  I get all that.  Still, this is certainly a new one on me.... sal

QuoteThe reason it is so high is due to the way it must be cured or dried. It takes a lot of time to dry it with out mold and It is a lot of work to harvest. It is not some small vine plant like a morning glory. IF your buying shreded vine then it should be cheaper yes because they aren't drying it properly. This vine must be dried in air conditioning. IOPan and I try to sell it at a reasonable rate. I was offering it out for free if you want to come help harvest it.
IOPan read your sites in the past and it's nice that we finally meet.
 be well

Title: Cappi gathering
Post by: Loro on March 14, 2007, 02:42:50 PM
I just wanted to let you know that IOPan and I are getting everyone together this weekend to help gather up Cappi. You can take as much as you like. He is going to get fined if we can't get it under control. I am renting a bob cat this weekend so if you would like to come on down let me know and I will give you the address. He is not charging  you just have to come pick it up yourself. We are just south of St petersburg FL in Bradenton

 ---  It's just such a hoot that here we have a desirable entheo in what can only be described as "over abundance".....   That just sits well in my demented universe    ----   Hey Rife;  I'd suggest you up that ante from a few feet to at least a couple dozen yards....  Never know when a good healing session might be in order :!: ------------ sal

Isn't the vine some kind of purgatory-thing?  Why would someone really want something like that?  I don't know...

It is an invasive vine mindcandy, if it is left to fend for itself. Though with proper grooming it can be a beautiful vine also, I hear it goes well in some brews of the ancients.

Syd is correct, It is not invasive in all climates tho. The vine is a plant that requires respect and time. It has been used by shamans. My life has not allowed me the proper time needed to care for the vine the past two yrs ;the vine itgot the best of IOpan and I. Thanks to all who showed up they left with some wonderful plants. It was a pleasure to meet some local Spirit plant friends :-D .
