It was cool when we had a choice of skins but i don't mind what it looks like as long as i can read it.
Some colours are hell on ageing eyes.

Yes, indeed! SPF just doesn't look right not in black/green :-/

Also, we don't seem to have a :-/ emoticon... not that that matters i spose :roll:

I'm definitely putting my vote in for a skin change... not that I was a really big fan of the original forum's skin, but definitely more... earthy... natural... blue/white/silver is very... uh... default?

Very default--that's it. I liked the old restful brown style. This is not bad, but it looks like every other phpBB. Haven't gotten confused in my posts, but still, SPF Refuge is unique.

How does a skin get changed? Can we submit color schemes/ideas?

I've had a little practice with making/customising phpbb skins and would be honoured to try + make a new one(s) for SPF... mayb something like this one (//http://www.dur.ac.uk/pagan.society/phpBB2) i made for the PaganSoc @university? Or maybe something completely different? Let me know if I can be of help :)

ok, i am about 1/2way thru 1st attempt, am using this default subSilver theme as a template... are there any SPF-specific things i need to take into account other than the links at the top in the overall_header.tpl (SPF radio/chat etc.)?

im still workin on this im afraid... havnt had much free time lately. also tis quite hard designing site-specific skin w/out access to the specific board templates, etc... did u say atreyu already had a spare non-default skin?

Since the ability can be set, if allowed in the admin cp, to allow users to chose the theme they want to use; I sat down today and started and a skin based on the old site layout. I link to this while it is still in development to get some ideas or input that you may have.

Test Board for Throwback SPF Skin (//http://pkeffect.com/phpBB2/index.php)

I want this skin to be an updated tribute to the old site. In that sense the colour scheme will not change much from where it is now. Tweaking here and there. I would like to have this done ASAP. I've only spent about 5 hours on it so far.

Don't be surprised if if available in a day or to. I'm sure small updates and changes can be made after that fact if there are any.

Why the hell don't we already have different skins already is my question. Nothing against Azarius for taking his time, but damn, there are plenty out there, and like pkeffect said people can choose their own skins. The defualt skin sucks.

Umm thats a DAMN LARGE image (the one you linked to) to begin with and I don't have control over the skin anymore.

Ill keep the copy I have up on my server for future edits and whatnot but I can not control how it looks on this site now.

To change that image, a lot of code would have to be edited and or deleted also.

I am glad you all like it. Maybe in the future I can make some more using different colour schemes and graphics. Give you all a few to choose from and what not.

I may not be around as much as I used to be years ago but I still consider this one of my homes.

It looks better today. Maybe it's my imagination but it seemed too dark before and a little lighter now. Might be me.
