i haven't touched a glass of alcohol since sept 1, 2001 at burning man fest...at that time i had long lost my interest in booze, having found out that my art & my soul could go much further with entheogens...but still drinking dreams recur, a recent one this week, always in drinking again a sense of relief and defeat both...even in waking hard to remember i did not return to that former life i left willingly, happily...
when i do remember, i am glad for not going back...i had some good wild drinking times, as many as anyone could wish for...but they're over, the days, the people, the places of those years, over, and one sigh for them, and move on...
