Title: Need Wildflower ID please...
Post by: Jaeda on March 19, 2006, 05:20:23 PM
Had an older friend for tea... commented on my purple carpet... she's trying to find out what it is. I don't know... it just blooms every spring between various daffodil cultivars in timing, but fairly early. It's a wildflower that grows in little masses. Reminds me of a miniature version of Lyre-leaf sage but different. Very unimpressive in passing but about knocked her socks off when I picked just one stem for her to see the blooms up close. Anyway, she's wanting to take some up to her place but neither of us knows what it is. It's in a Spring full sun position but come Summer that changes... as does the intensity of the sun. So she's not sure where she should plant a plug of it not knowing what it is. Anyone know?

ID'd.... we've got Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule - if I remember the Latin right)... thanks to those who looked, even if you didn't know.
