Good luck Roach, we all want you to succeed. I am getting my cuttings next week so I will be right behind you.......
good luck good trip and man can u give me some?
namste
As you can tell from above we are both waiting. But I will have them on the site in the next couple months. So find some cuttings to donate and build up those points now.
Cut a hole in the top or loosen the lid so that some air exchange passively occur. The salvia need some carbon dioxide to get into the headspace, or they will deplete it quickly by their photosynthesis and essentially starve.
BTW - I root mine without humidity tents ever, just bubblers in humidites ranging from 35-60%. No need for saturated water vapor climate.
Good with the holes.
Good luck.
I stopped using any humidity device at all recently and find they do not take any longer to root and most show root growth in 5-6 days 10 days max.
It is early spring here but I have made cuttings like this all winter with temp ranges from 8-15C and ambient humidity levels at 15-30%.
The thing with not using a humidity device is that after they root, you can just plant them in soil and not have to go through weaning them off humidity as they don’t skip a beat when going from water to soil.
Just making a few for somebody right now.

I've had good luck placing cuttings in soil or water and then placing the whole lot of cuttings in a large plastic bag. You can then place a small candle in the bag and light it. Close the bag up and when the light goes out so too does most of the oxygen. This can rapidly speed up growth if you do this every few days and acts as a humidity tent as well. You can alternately form a small hole to breath into the bag and then tie it up. Inflating the bag with your breath. I like your method though roach.
