Don't know why I find this funny - but I do. I'm sure it was right out of an Abbott and Costello skit. I wonder if Bush and Cheney ever go huntin together? I wonder if the Division of Wildlife or the local Sheriff were called. Does Cheney have a Hunter's Safety Card or a hunting license? Was Cheney drunk? Inquiring minds want to know.

WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, his spokeswoman said Sunday.
Harry Whittington, 78, was “alert and doing fine†after Cheney sprayed Whittington with shotgun pellets on Saturday at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong.
Armstrong said Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidentally hit Whittington. She said Whittington was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Cheney's spokeswoman, Lea Anne McBride, said the vice president was with Whittington, a lawyer from Austin, Texas, and his wife at the hospital on Sunday afternoon.
He shot him in the face, seriously the face.

Oh man, honestly I'm sick of even hearing about this. It's a distracting non-issue IMO. I mean, ultimately, who really cares. It doesn't prove anything. There are bigger fish to fry in the bush/cheney pond. Seeing this debated with glee add nausium on the news outlets is just distracting and bizarre. Who really cares. What does that say about his opposition to jump on this like a pack of wolves? I mean, shouldn't everybody be talking about something actually relevant, like say, the recent news about how he allegidly authorized "Scooter" Libby to leak classified information in reguards to the outing of Valerie Plame a CIA agent......
I think it's important as the average hick doesn't understand WMD's, world politics, outing CIA agents, etc., but this makes it clear to every redneck in Texas, Cheney is an idiot and acts above the law. Anyone else wouldn't have been able to wait 12 hours before talking to the cops (time to sober up) after shooting someone.

I just got done spending 45 min dealing with some anal retentive cop, because I flipped a cig butt into the bushes beside my local library.... He never sought to ask if he could search me; but I was repeatedly asking him if he had better things to do than to stop, and approach someone who has done nothing wrong... I am sorry about that d!ck you got to deal with Senor. Down here in Southern Lousyana they have particulary nice cops that like to shoot you in the head before they question you. I have had my fair share of dealings with these crooked @$$holes and have no respect for these southern cops at all. Thank goodness I am out of here soon!!! Speaking of Cheney, now they say he may face criminal charges for the shooting. Yea right! But if he did, why not just tack it on to all the other charges he should be facing, eh?

Wow!! I know Cen that you are very active voice and believe me, I think that all those issues you mentioned are important. However, you left out some of the most important such as the fact that glaciers and ice sheets are disappearing around the world at an alarming rate, Earth's magnetic system is shifting and deteriorating, sea levels are on the rise, Humans are still polluting this Earth without cause, etc, and if all this comes to a head who is dicking who will not matter a damn. As important as all of what you say, I feel if humans do not have an Earth to fight over what is who's and who did what, then all that crap you speak of could matter less. Do not think for one moment that I am for Bush, nothing could be farther from the truth, but I think that there is more pressing issues then even Iran or Iraq and the rest of the political garbage. Just making a point that while this Cheney BS is just that and he will get off Scott free, it is still humorous and yet sad that so many people believe that he and Bush are good and honest. That is the problem, words come cheap and people follow like sheep.
