Stop Alito. Stop the War. Stop killing the poor and old. STOP BUSH!!
To:
Sen. Patty Murray
Sen. Maria Cantwell
January 20, 2006
Dear Senators,
I am writing to tell you that countless millions of people are watching what you and your fellow Democratic senators do regarding Bush's nominee to the SCOTUS. The Democratic Party is in peril, near as it has ever been to becoming powerless and useless. One party rule by the current fascists in power is close at hand, and their obvious goal. Your only choice is to oppose them, hard and loud, and stand united on every issue where their goals are to crush the US Constitution.
If you do not, the disasters occurring daily now will continue, and affect Americans and people around the world. Additionally, there are many who would just as soon see a new party rise up to do the work that the Democrats seem to be abandoning.
It's simple: stop them. Stop them or you will be voted out of office. We are watching, millions of us. Everywhere. Stop Alito. Stop the War. Stop the brutalization of the old and the sick and children. Stop the abuse of detainees. Stop the gutting of our relations with the UN. Stop this. If your careers are more important than speaking the truth to power, then you do not belong in the Senate. If you do right, your political fortunes will swell, and maybe this country can find some of its dignity again.
But know this: we are tired of the lies, we are tired of the cowardice that does not loudly protest the lies. The Democratic Party's base is eroding every day that you and your fellow Democratic Senators do not speak up, clearly. Bush and his cabal are profiteering war criminals.
I hope the both of you get this note, and that it does not go into a pile for some aid to read cursorily and file away. I hope you listen to people like me. I have a vote every November, and I will remember how each of you spoke out, or did not speak out. The choice is plain. Stop them, or be swept aside by braver persons who will.
Sincerely,
RS

Very nice Cenacle. A more heartfelt and succinct letter I could not have written.
Bravo

any US citizen can use that site to send an email to elected reps, House, Senate, or President...emails are free, but they offer for a fee regular post too, western union...
i urge all who can to use this site's great service
Both the demos and reps are worthless, IMHO. At this moment, the demos are our only counterweight to the reps which seem to be the more evil of the two. I for one am sick of playing the lesser of the two evils game which seems to come up every election. We need to get behind third party candidates like Green and Libertarian. They are the only hope for cleaning up the mess.
The bribery scandle may pay dividends in the form of new laws against legal bribery. I figure they will just put a band aid over it and business as usual. That's why we need a new broom to sweep clean.
In Florida they passed laws against accepting any gift from a lobbyist even a free dinner. Naturally, they are hard at work getting around the law.
Why can't we impeach Bush for spying on us without authorisation? Isn't that worse than lying about blow jobs? Not that I have any great affection for Clinton but he was a lesser evil than Bush.
