what a nice toast :) well, let's see...two words for any thinking marriage...LAS VEGAS...heh...just kidding...i looked like an undercover cop showing up at the church in my suit and leather jacket...the service was pretty elaborate, Catholic though no mass because i'm not Christian...pagan animists rock yo!! jk...but the preacher hitched us up anyway, everybody in KD's family all gussied up...they's ranching folk, so don't pimp it up too much, but they all looked very nice, like they took the event to be a really good one worth the try...kinfolk-in-law i call em, heheh...

so we took our vows, exchanged our rings...the preacher ragged on about family and kids and so on, i think he's a pretty smart guy but i'm not terribly in favor of saying that the end of human joining is foremost breeding...but i have learned to let things ride...he ain't raising our kids if we have em and we aint having none til we are ready...pretty much it...still, i thanked him for his role in things...the church was pretty xmas decorated...i wrote a poem in the basement restroom before tying on the nuptials...heh...

the reception was pretty cool, dinner, nice three tier cake that KD's mom decorated...the dj spun some pretty cool tunes including the ones we put on a CD...i don't know how many had heard death cab for cutie or the jayhawks or patty griffin before that night but it was fine...oh and something else, the chicken dance, i'd not heard that one...google it, fucking hilarious...

them folks kicked it up hard off'n the free bar...i don't drink but i poured em strong when i had a chance...

we had a little cottage rented to sleep in that night...so exhausted, out pretty much in a blink...next week i go to chicago for a job training class all week, and KD will join me there, free hotel, something of a honeymoon...

just got home, dropped KD off at her first class of new quarter at Uni...work tomorrow...we travelled about ten hours and half a continent today...

thanks for the well wishes

Glad to hear you're home, safe and sound

chicken dancing? yeah, kibbutzniks first showed me that such a thing existed.

i can still recall my first look when a largish woman started flapping her arms (wish that i could erase the image, but it's with me permanently)

maybe someone will have come away from your reception with a little extra something in their musical repertoire.

Well well well... I leave for a few minutes and this is what I have to return to!? I feel so depressingteenagerocksongaboutbeingontheoutsidelookingin-ish   .. Brother Ray, /me smiles warmly at his old friend, this Fall/Winter has been an extreme one of opposites for me, to say the least. While the "lows" have never seemed/been lower; the "highs" have soared to the newest heights.  Each instance, whether as small as a passing smile in a strangers eyes or as large as a celebration coronading the union of souls, created an almost cosmic elation.. leaving not even the darkest of shadows without at least a little splash of laughter and light. Times are intense now, my friend, and I can think of no better time to be alive. Something's happening, something good, I think.. beyond any of our imaginations. And we have front row seats to see it all unfolding. It's not a common occurence when two halves of a soul manage to find each other again and reunite after who-knows how long. But my Fall/Winter was blessed with two such occasions now. Thank you, Ray and wife (Kassandra, is it?), for giving me further affirmation that times are indeed, as Dylan said, a-changin'. May your days be filled with laughter, love and light.. And your nights saturated with a sense of blissful peace and satisfaction (Things are as they should be) that seems strangely familiar, though you can't remember feeling that way ever before (at least in this lifetime). The night is passing now, Dawn is just around the corner. You can sense it, almost before those first Rays of light shatter the darkness. Almost feeling the kiss of dew on bare feet, but oh! Please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times.. Or don't! It doesn't matter! This is a free ride! A front row seat to the Phoenix-rising! A one-time-only experience of Universal proportions! So please, enjoy the Show!

/me pops another few stems in his mouth and chews them contemplatively.. then signs off.
