Title: Whispers in the Darkness
Post by: VividHazE on November 24, 2005, 10:45:10 PM
Hi everyone,

I had an odd, unnerving experience last night when I used SD and I just wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone else has experienced it.

I did a good few water pipe hits of SD, holding each as long as I could, it was plain leaf by the way.  I didn't feel anything at all happen after about 10 minutes, only colours looked different yet the same, as if brighter and darker all at once.

It was already pretty late so I got into bed, and turned off the lights of course.  I was sitting there for about 2 or 3 minutes when it struck me that the lights were meant to be off, but all I could see where colours and odd shapes, and it almost sounded like a woman whispering to me.

I couldn't understand the words, its like trying to hear someone whispering from down a hallway, I SHOULD have heard the words, but they just weren't registering.  Her tone made me feel they were very important.  She spoke in bits and pieces, and at some points I was almost convinced it wasn't a voice at all, just some sort of sound in my house, stupid idea I guess.

Thats about it I guess, but it seriously freaked me out, I can't get the low single tone shadow voice of out my mind all day today.  :?

Anyone fancy joining me in my maddness?  :D

For me, it is more subconcious in the sense of messages.  Albeit sometimes I feel that I am right there holding a conversation with the voice in my head.  I have had the same voice before telling me of things like how I should treat a particular plant or about some info on a person, item, etc.  I have ADD and it is hard for me to concentrate on anything for any length of time without my mind wandering or forgetting something.  Sally seems to not only help in depression, but also in memory.  Now how many good ole plants that are our favorites can we say that about?   Might I suggest you try her again with the lights out and with as little distraction as possible and see if she does not repeat the message if you ask her to, as she usually will if you are polite.

PS  A candle's flame is too cool when staring into it after dosing on Sally!!!!

hey dergheist

Cool.  I think maybe the subconscious thing was what I meant.  I mean I know I couldn't possibly physically be hearing it, but it did sound like it...

I'll give it another go (and a bigger amount lol).  I haven't had a candle when on Sally before, must try it!  :)

Hi VividHazE

I've had voices as well (young children singing to me), but only on fairly big doses.  They seem to come from deep within, and reflect what I fear!

What I find particularly eerie is not the voice, but the strange presence.  This happens at any dose.

Certainly keeps me on my toes.  Might be a good idea to have a recorder playing and verbalise what's being said - it's all too easy to forget.

Hey Entheodjinn,

Yea those voice can be pretty creepy alright.  Its exactly as you say about how its not the voices, its the presence.  I have had a number of whacked out experiences doing certain other things.

For example one time me and a couple of my mates were sitting in a car, in a field (don't ask) in the early hours of the morning, and it was still dark.  I really needed to relieve myself so I got out of the car, the light was on in it so i could cleary see it.  I walked in a straight line a short bit, did the deed, then turned around...the car was gone.

What I saw next I remember very clearly, even though I'm not usually like that with memories, its just too clear.  In the very dim moonlight I looked around the wide open field and saw dozens of people in the field, half see through and glowing a slight blue.  They were all dressed like you'd picture the 1800's, with odd dresses with corsets, top hats and coats, with pocket watches and monicals and walking sticks.

I stumbled about frantically, hearing them whisper with an echo, asking me the time, or wondering when the train was leaving.  And as soon as it began, it was over, and i was standng right in front of the car, like I think I was the whole time.

That was my "best/worst" experience of all.  But back to my point (if I have one) is that even during that experience, I never got anywhere near being as frightened, curious or paranoid, than I did that time I heard the woman whisper.

I dunno, I'll quit my rant now while I'm behind.  :D

Try the candle yet?  I guess those apparitions do not bother me since I have had them since childhood without any help.  All I can say is that they seem to always have a message, the problem is that if you concentrate on what they are saying, it becomes vague or non-existant. Now if you listen without listening   like the beginning stages of a planned OBE, then for me it usually becomes clear.  Good luck and too cool on sharing your experiences. Thanks

Hi VividHazE

That wasn't a rant - it was a lovely concise description of the weird world of Salvia - so please keep them coming.

I think this is a topic which will run and run (and of course it wends its way through so many other threads).  So often we want to articulate the learnings made whilst exploring Salviaspace - if only to make sure we don't forget them.

From a personal perspective, I know that with other major psychedelics I can have insights, but 8 hours later when the trip is over they are gone, and I don't feel desperate to recall them, although I know they were important.   With Salvia, I think the eerieness somehow attaches to the insight and I feel it haunting me.

Dergheist's suggestion about 'listening' without listening is a really nice piece of wisdom.
