Okay. I know nothing about java or how to use it. Here's my problem. Whenever I log on to chat I can only make one comment before I am for some reason unable to type whatever onto the bar, my cursor won't even recognize it.
I have had this problem with spf chat for some time but was too embarrassed by the fact that i couldn't figure it out myself, to post about the problem. The forum's been down for quite awhile and I'm dying to talk to all of you chatters. So screw how much it embarasses me that I am essentiall computer illiterate. I'm sure I'm not the only one frustrated by these machines.
I also can't figure out how to change my username to anything other than "javauser" Yeah, that was me just a little bit ago. Sorry I couldn't say anything other than hello.
If anyone can help me make some sense of thi... Well, that'd be just swell.
Glad to see some of us have found our way here.
Thank you cenacle for that post at the lycaeum. i probably wouldn't have found it otherwise.
Hey, I can't even post once. Chat loads, superimposes itself on any browser window, and freezes. That's with Firefox (maybe Safari too) on Mac OS X 10.3.5.
Maybe I should go download a chat client or something?
I never could make the java chat work either.
or it should, i just tested on my mac 10.2.3 using safari...but if you dont have luck with java chat, get a client...please come to chat, and tune in radio, they are part of your/our community! :) radio is for high speed and dial up users, and chat works...
Yes, it would be lovely to see you in the chatroom.
Its a good idea to download a client: www.mirc.com (http://www.mirc.com) has one and there's also xchat but i dunno where to find it.
When you have a client the chat is at nitro.bctel.org : port 6667
If you have any problems maybe a geek will help sort it out.
hey, i got in the other day. This is something that hasn't happened in way over a year.
Had the pleasure of landing, speaking and hanging out for a moment or two.
the link works!

Once we finally get a settled home we can have a few versions of the chat. HTML via CGI:IRC, SSL-HTTP via CGI:IRC and Java.
That should help everyone and their compatability issues.
That or goto www.Java.com (http://www.java.com) and upgrade because the applet should work fine. It has everywhere I've used it. From at least 6 diffrent PC's i've tried.
if you have a mac you can always get "ircle"at http://www.ircle.com (http://www.ircle.com) . I don't really like using java chat.
