Sounds like a swell idea...  Something all of us should be concerned with for all the obvious reasons...  I wonder, would this forum concern itself with only the dry bones legality of substances deemed prohibited by this or that country; or, might such a forum find room to seriously discuss the implied legality or lack therof, of sacramental use in the 'religious sense'...  I know I'd sure like to truly understand the issues behind the "Seagram heir vs Aya laws case and how it is really impacted by the guvmits Restoration of religious Freedom Act....------------ sal

Lets do it!

"I wonder, would this forum concern itself with only the dry bones legality ... or, might such a forum find room to seriously discuss the implied legality or lack therof, of sacramental use in the 'religious sense'."

You can make the first post.

----------   Hey'ya TSTT, yeah well, 'ya know how 'ole senor is eh  ----  Call it a throwback to my old hippie past or even an advanced visionary awakening :P   no matter what the reason, I do feel that maybe there is room for a serious discussion concerning the religious liberties angle....  I mean, from what I have gathered. the government has the burden of proving that 'sacramental' use would be a serious detriment....Barring such proof, the guv is prohibited from interfering on whatever a group may call their way of spiritual enlightenment.....  Allow me a fantasy here. OK///   Assuming the AYA case is decided in favor of the peeps and not the guv...  This would open the door for any group to use the same Freedom of Religious practice clause ....   No more getting told you have to be a bonafide Native American to find spirituality in the ingestion of Peyote....etc, etc,    -----   So, to further my fantasy world; let me envision the "First Church Of The Entheogenic Spirit" :D  :D    There is ample historical precedent for one to claim that the common man has utilized entheogens in a spiritual context for eons...  This history seems to do away with guvmit knee jerk reaction and crying out that any 'using' group would wreak havoc on the society norms as a whole....   Yeah, it's a dream of a brighter day, fer sure, but senorsal is chomping at the bit to don his ceremonial robes and sit down somewhere sharing the sacrraments with fellow believers without worrying about guvmit interference! ! ! --------------  sal

I think if Senor would take the job, that'd be great.

I bet Jacko would fit the position well too.

Well, Senor, you are more optimistic than eye for sure. I definitly think it is a religous freedom issue, also a pursuit of happiness( I heard some reference to that originaly being "pursuit of property") issue.

Our city council just voted against letting people have accessa to clean hypodermics without prescription, basing their decison on cops expressing their "gut feeling' as opposed to the county public health officer's citing of scientific studies.

So we need this forum, now more tha ever. I think Brother Salvia should be moderater and if we can drag Brother Jacko away from his family a bit he should be co moderator.

--------   Well, uh, it's an honor and all, but you guys gotta realize just how pathetic and minimal my 'puter ability is.....   Hell, I don't even know the usual stuff like how to send attachments during e-mails, stuff like that....  I'd imagine it's one thing to sit around here like I do and pontificate when the mood moves; must be another to have the ability to move posts to appropriate forums etc... It's up to you peeps , but 'ya gotta know I'm stone lousy with tech stuff...............   sal  (near luddite  )

Glad to see it come together.

Modding is easy, as long as your checking in from time to time.

And what a cush forum to mod, what misbehaving could occur in a forum that should be factually based and has no possibility of skirting the law since it is about the law.
