Title: Leaves are turning Black!
Post by: VividHazE on October 09, 2005, 02:33:09 PM
Hi everyone,

Over the past 2 days about 70% of the leaves on my plant have started to turn black at the tips of them.  Is this a sign of it being diseased?  Or something more simplier?  I hope it doesn't die...  :?

I had the tips go black b4 from too low humidity also. Try letting the soil get close to dry and misting the leaves without letting the water get into the pot. Good luck!!!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice!  I have actually taken my first cutting from the plant, today, I followed all the instructions on the SD FAQ over on sagewisedom exactly, after a few hours it has drooped over completely in the glass, should I attach a stick or something?  Is this normal to droop like this?

Thanks,

Are there fungus gnats present ?  And yes, normal for a cuting to droop to start with but by the time you read this 'should' have picked itself up really.

Hey Bushpig,

The cutting has started to strengthen and stand on its own you were right!  The blackness seems to be spreading a little, but slowing down, I'm gonig to let the main plant dry out for a good few days before I give it any water.

It doesn't look like there are any things on it, I did the white paper tapping technique and nothing.  I did overwater it quite a bit when I was nervous about it

I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best!
