They were next to an abandoned oak barrel under a cottonwood.

PS: No wonder I can't figure out what they are. They are debating it. At least they appear edible, no matter what you call them.

Beautiful TSTT!!! I hope you took some to enjoy. Although, not my favorite, they are still up on my list of shrooms for cooking. (Especially grilled or stir fried)
