The Trade Winds / E novo seeds and other goodies for trade
September 15, 2015, 11:01:06 AM
E novo is the cocaine plant and is legal or in a gray area. The seeds are perfectly legal but if you grow it and do an extraction from the leaves it might be illegal. So be advised.

I will trade novo seeds with those in usa, looking for spore prints or other interesting ethno botanical items, or anything interesting. I also have b caapi leaf, can take caapi cuttings, and have a novo seedling. Make me an offer.

The Rain Forest / Voacanga Africana bearing fruit
September 05, 2013, 04:50:00 PM
A few days ago i noticed something odd. On my v.a. trees there were hanging a couple new ornaments. They looked like small oranges. Here is a pic of them and one of the flowers. They have flowered before but this is the first time they set fruit. It may have been because both flowered at the same time.

The World / Should we be in syria?
May 09, 2013, 04:32:16 PM
Or any of the 70 some odd countries where we are stirring up trouble?

Assad is a bad guy, no doubt about it. But so are the ones who are trying to replace him. Why should we help either side?

The World / Obama Is As Bad As Bush … Or Worse
March 19, 2013, 01:10:58 PM
Even Democratic Party Loyalists Starting to Wake Up to the Fact that Obama Is As Bad As Bush ... Or Worse      March 17, 2013
Print Version
Source: Washington's Blog

Obama Is Worse than Bush In Favoring the Super-Elite, Bailing Out the Big Banks, Protecting Financial Criminals, Targeting Whistleblowers, Keeping Government Secrets, Trampling Our Liberties and Starting Military Conflicts In New Countries
Glenn Greenwald notes that even Democratic party loyalists are getting fed up with Obama's Bush-like actions:
Even the most loyal establishment Democrats are now harshly denouncing the president for his war on transparency .... This secrecy has become so oppressive and extreme that even the most faithful Democratic operatives are now angrily exploding with public denunciations.
(Greenwald gives numerous examples.)
The Hill reported last month:
A majority of voters believe President Obama has been no better than his immediate predecessor, President George W. Bush, when it comes to balancing national security with the protection of civil liberties, according to a new poll for The Hill.
Thirty-seven percent of voters argue that Obama has been worse than Bush while 15 percent say he has been "about the same." [In other words, a total of 52% think Obama is just as bad as Bush. That was before the drone controversy - discussed below - went viral.] *** The results cannot be fully explained as party line responses. More than one in five self-identified Democrats, 21 percent, assert that the Obama administration has not improved upon Bush's record. So do 23 percent of liberals.Indeed, more and more Democrats are waking up the fact that Obama is doing a lot of the same stuff Bush did.
Bush was a horrible president. His warmongering, disrespect for civil liberties, redistribution of wealth from the poor and middle class to the super-elite, and obsession for secrecy were all abysmal.
But how does Obama stack up by objective measurements?
Let's compare ...
Favoring the Super-Elite the Expense of Everyone Else
Income inequality has increased more under Obama than under Bush.
Under Obama, the richest Americans have captured more than 100% of all income gains (and see this).
Liberal Nobel prize economist Joseph Stiglitz said in 2009 that Obama's toxic asset plan "amounts to robbery of the American people".
Bailing Out the Big Banks
While everyone knows about the $700 billion "Tarp" bailout which started under Bush, a top banking analyst puts the current bailouts under Obama at more than $780 billion each year. (Background here.)
Protecting Financial Criminals
Obama has prosecuted fewer financial crimes than President Reagan, Clinton or either of the Bush presidents.
Obama's chief law enforcement officer – the Attorney General of the United States – has publicly stated that he won't go after big banks.
Targeting Whistleblowers
Obama has prosecuted more whistleblowers than all other presidents combined.
Obama – even more than Bush – is protecting criminal activity by prosecuting and harassing whistleblowers.
Indeed, the Obama administration is are literally treating whistleblowers as terrorists.
Using Government Secrecy
In March 2010, AP documented that – under Obama – 17 major agencies were 50 percent more likely to deny freedom of information requests than under Bush.
An ACLU staff attorney puts it:
In some ways, the Obama administration is actuall
y even more aggressive on secrecy than the Bush administration.A new AP investigation published last week shows that the Obama administration has recently become more secretive than ever.
Trampling Liberties and the Constitution
Liberals rightfully hate Bush for trampling liberties. Bush even called the Constitution a "God Damn Piece of Paper".
But Obama has gone much further than Bush ever did by:
(1) Declaring the right to
assassinate Americans living on U.S. soil (no ... this was never disclaimed) without any due process of law (2) Declaring that he can indefinitely detain Americans on U.S. soil without any due process of law (3) Spying on Americans more widely than Bush (the former head of the National Security Agency's global digital data gathering program – William Binney – says that he pervasiveness of spying under Obama has only "gotten worse") (4) Bush destroyed much of the separation of powers which made our country great. Under Obama, it's gotten worse. For example, the agency which decides who should be killed by drone is the same agency which spies on all Americans
(5) Otherwise shredding the Bill of RightsStarting Military Conflicts In New Countries
Liberals rightfully lambast Bush for getting us into the disastrous Iraq war.
But Obama has in fact launched wars in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan ... and up to 35 African nations (and see this).
Obama – citing a Nixon administration official's justification for invading Cambodia – has claimed his power extends into every country in the world ... well beyond those where we are engaged in hostilities.
Obama has dramatically escalated the use of drone assassinations, which are  creating many more terrorists than they are killing.  The former chief military prosecutor at Guantanamo says that Obama's drone surge is as damaging to our country as Bush's torture program. I think he's actually underestimating damage from the program, as drones have become the number 1 recruiting tool for Al Qaeda (especially since children are now being targeted for drone assassination ... Oh, and torture is still happening on Obama's watch; background).
And the Obama administration has probably supported even more terrorists – in Libya, Syria and elsewhere – than Bush

The Trade Winds / Voacanga Africana and other goodies
October 25, 2012, 04:00:46 PM
I just got some v.a. seed fresh off the boat from africa. I started some a few days ago and just today saw the first sprout so i know it's not a false alarm. The other seeds i started have swollen so they may pop soon too. I have the rest of my seeds in the fridge and they should be good for a couple months. I may have seedlings available later. I waited until i got a sprout before offering the seeds because most of what you get turns out to be duds.

Ethroxylum novogranatense berries and seedlings available to a good home. This one will grow year around indoors or put it out in warmer weather.

I have a good size seedling, its name starts with "K" or sometimes "Q" depending on where you are from.

I have many spore prints, many other seeds.

I am open to all offers, perhaps rooted kratom plants, other nifty stuff? Fruits from your garden or others? Siver coins are always good to trade with.

I have fresh caapi seeds off my own vines both cielo and black variety. Seeds can be sent overseas with no problem. Also have kat seedlings and a good size mimosa hostilis plant. Live plants can only be sent within usa.

Also have

powdered mhrb
damiana herb
dried san pedro
calea dried dream herb
phenibut
spore prints

Also have many types of seeds, many cactus seeds too many to list here plus m hostilis seeds, caapi seeds, poppy seeds etc. Phenibut is a legal compound used in place of valium or xanax. Not as strong gram for gram but deserves some respect. I have sealed 100 gm jars or can send smaller amounts.

Looking for silver coins, rare ethnogens, usa cash or postage stamps, most anything of interest. Its best to trade since that way it costs you no money out of your pocket. I can also use bulk amounts of seeds, herbs or things i may already have if you have a lot of it.

Make me an offer

The Rain Forest / Khat garden

The larger ones in back are about 4" tall. I see at least 2 phenotypes.

Here is a pic of my 2 biggest kats. What looks like a third plant between the 2 is a branch from the left one that grew out and up.

The Rain Forest / Chaliponga grow
December 01, 2010, 06:31:18 PM
I received some seeds said to be chaliponga. They are supposed to take 3-4 weeks to start germinating. Here is a photo of one of them. It looks a little like a brown moth, doesn't it?

The Rain Forest / P viridis bearing fruit
October 29, 2009, 07:26:41 PM
I posted a few pics a while back, basically the same. If anyone wants some, speak up. All trades considered and if you are a regular with nothing to trade, let me know and i'll probably send you some anyway.

I still have e novogranatense berries and one seedling. These are offered so people can enjoy the beauty of the plant and to preserve the species. They are not intended for consumption or extraction. The plant is legal but extracting from it could bring you to the attention of those we don't want attention from.

While i'm at it, i have plenty of b caapi cuttings available. I have cielo and black. Seeds may be ready in a couple months or so. I do have one or two small caapi seedlings. Help me clear out my kitchen and give me more things to grow.

History suggests he will not listen. Big pharma and other money players are against it. What will it take, a revolution?

An over-whelming majority favor the legalization of marijuana, according to a new Headline Press survey. The new poll found that 86% of all those surveyed favor the decriminalization of pot.

Headline Press dot com regularly surveys visitors on important news related issues of the day, providing daily news headlines from all the major and independent news organizations in the U.S. online for free.

The online survey, conducted over the last two weeks of October, found that only 14% of those surveyed do not want the use of marijuana legalized. Studies indicate that the medicinal use of marijuana aids in the healing or prevention of cataracts, broken bones, a variety of cancers and other ailments.

Opponents of the legalization of marijuana argue that since the use of alcohol is already legal in all states the usage of marijuana should continue to be outlawed. Controversy surrounds the usage of marijuana, despite increasing scientific evidence that its long term damage effects are limited. A state law in California allows the legal dispensing of marijuana for medical purposes.

Those who favor its legalization point to the lack of law enforcement in many other areas, criticizing lawmakers and other government leaders for allowing the growth of white collar crime, which helped to damage the national economy with the credit crisis through actions on Wall Street.

Enforcing marijuana prohibition costs American taxpayers roughly $10 billion annually and results in more than 829,000 arrests a year, far more than the total number of arrests for all violent crimes combined. The arrests are much easier to obtain by police than the time and effort required to produce arrests in many other areas of law enforcement.

This is still up for debate but seems to be part of the general trend toward an Orwellian society. Big brother is watching you!
